Besides educating middle school girls on math and science careers, the upcoming Expanding Your Horizons seminar will offer educational opportunities for adults, as well.

Two workshops will be offered to adults during the EYH event, set for 8:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, on the TJC main campus.

“Brain Compatible Strategies for Parents and Teachers” will be presented by Judy Stanley, a physical education instructor at Bell Elementary.

Stanley has done extensive post-graduate study on brain-compatible learning and has presented workshops on the subject throughout the region.

Parents and teachers will also have an opportunity to visit a resource room, to learn more about strategies for working with middle school girls and to pick up materials that encourage girls to go to college.
